S. FAUSTI - "Do not worry" is the refrain that Jesus repeats six times. To be worried s deprive of the present , which is the only time that is there ,to be projected into the future, which does not exist yet. The worry deprives us of everything and fills us with empty. To put life in the hands of the Father means to be free from breath-lessness. What guarantees the maintenance of it ,is He who, as gives it , so feeds it. The anxiety of foresight gives the place to trust in Providence. Jesus does not says not to work . He says not to make the job into an idol that takes breath. "The job has to be done, the concern has to be removed " (St. Jerome). St. Ignatius of Loyola recommends to act as if everything would depend by us, but knowing that everything depends by God. It is an attitude that takes the anxiety - all depends by God! - away and that brings into play our capabilities – all depends by us! The fact that everything is a gift it is not an alibi to release, but an antidote to worry. Unlike the animal, man is not born suit, nor he finds the food directly in the nature . He has necessity to work. But he shouldn't make of his needs his absolute. He is called to fulfil them as son, working together with the Father and sharing with the brothers. For the food Jesus says to observe the birds of sky , who do not make the so-called male jobs as plowing, sowing, mowing and harvesting. He remembers that the food does not depend, primarily, from our work, but from that of God, to which we are called to work together. The Father, who is "yours" and not theirs, feeds them too. His tenderness spreads over all creatures (Ps 145,9). If He provides to the food of the young ravens which cry to Him (Ps 147,9), as He will not care of His son ? God is at work not only in giving, but also in maintaining life : He gives the seed to the sower, but also the rain to the seed, because it give bread to eat (Isaiah 55:10). He lover of the life (Wis 11:26), just wants that His children rejoice in His own joy. Who can, worrying, to increase of just one palm his age or his stature, to live a little more or to be a little higher?
-->The concern, rather than stretch out the body, it shrinks and shortens life! To labour and to weave is woman's work, who is struggling to weave and coat the body. Flowers have a robe that grows with them and coverS them with splendor. Their beauty needs to describe the magnificence and the Glory of the Bridegroom. Solomon, known for his magnificence, he is not comparable as splendor to a single lily. If God makes this way with the grass of the field, which germinates in the morning and in evening dries and it is used to turn the oven and to bake the bread, many more He will care to dress us His children.. "People of little faith," It is the definition of the disciple, who doesn't trust his Lord (8:26). Because this he prays , with the father of the deaf-mute. "I believe, but come to the aid of my unbelief" (Mark 9:24), and he says with the apostles: "Increase our faith" (Lk 17,5). The disciple believes and in the same time he doesn't believe .Faith is not stable. It is a gift, which ends when they want to possess it, like the manna that rots when it is accumulated. True faith doesn't trust itself and its certainty, but Him and His continuous fidelity . The pagan does not believe that God is his Father, and he has to think of himself. His aim is not the communion with the Father and with the brothers, but the things to get through his work. It is true that, unlike birds and the lilies of the field, we also have to work. The garden is to cultivate , besides to guard (Gen2,15), after the sin, the sweat of the brow seasons our bread (Gen 3:19). But the only one that satiate is Father's love, given in sleep time to his children (Psalm 127.2). First of all we have to look for this and in everything: the kingdom of God and His righteousness, the love for the Father and for the brothers. What we care about, as it was the aim, it is an addition given to those who lives as son and brother. If we do this way, no one will be devoid of the needs and no one shall immolate the life to his needs, we all will be free, and, in fulfilling the needs that we have, we will fulfill the need that we are of filiation and brotherhood. Our own material life will be spiritual worship pleasing to God. God, as the daily manna, gives us every day the strength to the weights of that day, so that we should learn to live by faith. Life is a gift. They can not possess it or store it. The source gives more and more new water. Instead of digging broken cisterns that can not keep the water, (Jer 2:13), we can always draw every day with joy to the Father, the source of a life that is always new. (Is 12,3).

Gospel Mt 6:24-34 Jesus said to his disciples: "No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink?'or 'What are we to wear?' All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil."
