  1. 27 DOM. S. FAUSTI - "The stone that the builders have discarded , this has become the cornerstone " Jesus says to the leaders of the people. Then He declares what His power is and from where it comes .
It is that of the "discarted stone" that has become the “ cornerstone", that of the Crucified and Risen Son. The cross, foolishness and weakness for wise and powerful ones is the wisdom and power of God that saves man, destroying his deadly delirious.
Jesus is the Messiah who comes in the name of the Lord because He comes on the donkey. That for what He is discarded is the power itself of God that ultimately will be recognized by those who crucify Him.
This power, which since always the Son has in heaven, is given on the earth by those who reject Him, by the lords of the temple and the people who do not know the Lord of Glory.
These blindly unleash their deadly violence against Him. And He makes Himself their Savior and their Lord, so that He can absorb their evil without returning it, thus revealing who God is and who the man is in His image.
The story tells the interweaving between our infidelity and His loyalty.
His meeting with us and our refusal. The iron arm between the power of man, which is destructive and self-destructive violence, and that of God, which is love the strongest then the death.
The story begins by describing the care that God has for His vineyard. He make His love with the facts, so that we can understand it and we can make that fruit that makes us like Him.
To the multiplication of His gestures of goodness , a crescendo of our wickedness it corresponds. We strike and kill systematically the prophets who exorth us to produce the desired fruit.
To the obstinacy of His Love, it corresponds the increasingly thicker wall of our rejection !.
At the end the Father sends the Son.
Just in front of Him it comes out the intent that we have smoldered in His confrontation: to kill Him in order to kidnap His inheritance.
The listeners, interviewed by Jesus, respond by saying that the crime is worthy of the most severe condemnation.
Anyway the Lord gives another interpretation: the rejection of the leaders will be the beginning of a new people, and the discarded stone will be the cornerstone of the new temple.
The leaders of the people finally understand that they are talking about them, and they get set to do what Jesus has just said.
Jesus, the Son of man despised and killed outside the walls,He is the discarded stone that becomes an cornerstone. It is the Son who gives us the inheritance, He is the Pontiff that unites the Father to the brothers and each of them.
His Cross reveals the :destructiveness of our violence and the strength of His love.
This is the wonderful work of God:
    our misery shows His Mercy.

  2. Reading 2 PHIL 4:6-9

    Brothers and sisters:
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

    Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious,
    if there is any excellence
and if there is anything worthy of praise,
    think about these things.
Keep on doing what you have learned and received
and heard and seen in me.
Then the God of peace will be with you.
    Alleluia CF. JN 15:16

    R. Alleluia, alleluia.
I have chosen you from the world, says the Lord,
to go and bear fruit that will remain.
    R. Alleluia, alleluia.
    Gospel MT 21:33-43

Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people:
    "Hear another parable.
There was a landowner who planted a vineyard,
put a hedge around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a tower.
Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey.
    When vintage time drew near,
he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce.
But the tenants seized the servants and one they beat,
another they killed, and a third they stoned.
Again he sent other servants, more numerous than the first ones,
but they treated them in the same way.
Finally, he sent his son to them, thinking,
    'They will respect my son.'
But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another,
    'This is the heir.
Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.'
They seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
What will the owner of the vineyard do to those tenants when he comes?"
    They answered him,
"He will put those wretched men to a wretched death
and lease his vineyard to other tenants
who will give him the produce at the proper times."
Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures:
The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone;
by the Lord has this been done,
and it is wonderful in our eyes?
    Therefore, I say to you,
the kingdom of God will be taken away from you
and given to a people that will produce its fruit."
